Integrative Mind-Body Therapy

Many health issues benefit from Mind-Body Therapy including Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, chronic constipation, stroke syndrome, PTSD, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, depression, arthritis, urinary incontinence, low libido, chronic anxiety, insomnia, pregnancy, adrenal fatigue, menstrual disorders, osteoporosis and chronic pain.

Sometimes, there is a disconnect between our physical body, nervous system and mind which can result in issues with mood, behavior, relaxation, vascular tone, sleep, digestion and pain response that needs to become balanced. Mind-Body therapy helps to restore whole body homeostasis using polyvagal theory and visceral sensation techniques. As a result, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health realms become balanced.

Each Mind-Body therapy session involves a complete review of health history, interrogative discussion about health status and goals, a body scan and a thorough breath assessment. As the focus of mind-body therapy is to evaluate the whole self, our practitioner is able to work in collaboration with other health care providers in the practice to determine the most appropriate therapy.

All sessions are privately held in our office or can be performed remotely at a patient’s request. Our practitioner uses the Kosha model to help patients observe different layers of spiritual, emotional and physical being within themselves. Each session is unique and various techniques such as methodical meditation, yoga nidra, and step-breathing are utilized.
